RF (radio frequency) microneedling is a treatment designed to address skin concerns such as scarring from acne, fine lines and facial wrinkles, skin laxity or irregular skin texture. It works by using a special device that stimulates the body’s own healing response through the creation of micro-injuries in the skin. This results in the production of collagen and elastin, which tightens the skin and improves the appearance of acne scarring and fine lines. RF energy is delivered deep into the dermis, which enhances skin tightening and scar reduction even more than traditional microneedling, causing faster and better results.
RF microneedling uses small needles in the treatment, which is delivered in about one hour in the comfort of our office. We will apply topical anesthetic prior to the treatment. Your skin is likely going to be red for the first day or two following treatment, but you should experience only mild or no discomfort. Makeup can be applied and you can return to regular activities starting 24 hours after the treatment. You can expect to achieve full results with 2-3 treatment sessions, spaced about four weeks apart.
