Restylane® Lyft is a dermal filler that has been on the market since 2015, and is used to treat wrinkles in adults. It contains a plumping substance called hyaluronic acid (HA), and is primarily used for adding lift to cheeks, smoothing smile lines and adding volume to the backs of hands. Restylane® Lyft treatments consist of injections containing HA, lidocaine and water; the HA and water combination provides added volume under the skin, smoothing out wrinkles in the target area. The lidocaine helps to minimize pain during the procedure, and prevents the need for taking pain relievers prior to the treatment.
Restylane® Lyft treatments in our office will only take between 15 minutes and one hour, depending on how many injections you receive. We will use a fine-needle syringe, and you should expect little to no pain, given the use of lidocaine during the procedure. However, you could possibly experience minor pain, swelling or itching following the procedure. The injections will help to smooth the wrinkles in the target area almost instantly and will last for 8-10 months, but will require follow up treatments to be maintained for longer periods.
